Types of check

The Screening Unit does five types of check.

Mandated by legislation:

• child-related employment and working with children checks
• disability services employment
• aged care sector employment

Not mandated by legislation:

• vulnerable person-related employment
• general employment probity

All types of checks use existing criminal information. They do not determine someone’s potential to offend.
