Screening checks contribute to creating safe environments for children and other vulnerable people. South Australian and Commonwealth policy and legislation mean many employees and volunteers must have checks done as part of their roles.
The Screening Unit does 5 types of checks.
- Working with Children Checks
- NDIS worker checks
- Aged care sector employment
- Vulnerable person-related employment
- General employment probity
The checks are used to assess the risk of a person working with vulnerable people. The Screening Unit does not decide if a person is suitable for employment or volunteer work. It’s up to the organisation to decide if someone is right for a role.
The Screening Unit does not conduct National Police Checks.
