The Department of Human Services (DHS) Screening Unit provides checks of workers and volunteers to organisations, contributing to creating safe environments for children and other vulnerable people.

The Screening Unit conducts different types of screening assessment dependent upon the work the employee or volunteer does.

Fees and payments

The cost of a check is paid by either the individual or organisation. Volunteering checks are free.

Individuals can now submit their own application for a check.

Update your information or confirm check.

You can update your details, provide information to the Screening Unit, confirm a check status.

Check status of an application
